Safety is a top priority at GMF Structural. Our goal is ZERO injuries and ZERO lost time on all projects as well as providing the safest work environments for our employees. Our vigorous safety awareness conveys into a higher level of professionalism and pride.
GMF’s AISC certifications require a robust safety program that conducts annual audits to ensure that the policies and procedures are being followed and effective. As a training tool, GMF utilizes the USF/OSHA Training Institute as well as our vast insurance resources to keep up to date on training and the latest safety requirements.
We conduct yearly Continuing Education Programs for Managers and Supervisors. All employees must attend mandatory weekly “Tool Box” safety meetings to strengthen the “safety culture” on all projects. At GMF, we have an open door policy for all employees to discuss safety. We have also developed a company-wide Safety Committee to address Shop and Field safety concerns. Our safety leads perform daily inspections to ensure all safety policies are being practiced.
Through documenting and training on proper work practices, we are able to reduce potentially dangerous “work-arounds,” and as a result reduce the risk of workplace accidents and injuries. We are very proud of our 4 year decreasing trend for jobsite injuries, incidents, and illnesses.
